I have Homework!!

This is the boring time of the month as far as referrals go. The excitement of the last batch is gone, (although with this batch, there was little excitement anyway) and it will be at least 2 weeks before rumors get cranked up again. The yahoo groups go dormant, and the Rumor Queen starts blogging about boring stuff.

Last night I was e-mailing my friend, fellow China waiter, and (hopefully) travel mate. I was complaining about how I will possibly make it thru the month and she gave me a list of stuff to do! Homework!! yeah! The list was made up of things like:

Wander around my favorite store for at least an hour and try on lots of clothes.
Got to the library and check out China travel books.
Practice using all the electronics we will be taking to China. (Good one!)
Get the new Chinese New Year Stamp for referral announcements. (see above)

...and it went on.

So this is my personal invitation for anyone to add to the list. I have at least 3 weeks before the next batch comes out and right now that seems interminably long.

Let's all help me make it thru the month, shall we?

* Research the weather in each province/area you will be in and start setting aside clothes you want to bring (wash 'em)

Good plan. Do things for you. Once she's home, you won't have time do do your things.
Buy some baby food, have a few diapers in a couple sizes so you're covered, wipes, some tiny baby washcloths,-our washcloths seem so big for her - spoons, and some waterproof pads. These have been used quite a lot around here. Am so excited to see your referral come!

Run out to Target and pick up the new paperback "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs. I have heard that it is a good read (in fact I will be starting it soon for my book club and hope to have the author call in to our meeting)!

Go out and pamper yourself (hair cut, nails, etc)... pretty soon you won't have the time or energy to go and do these things :)

Buy a brag book to keep with you once you are back home and into a routine. Everyone will always be asking, "do you have any new pictures of Zoe?!?"

Definitely go pamper yourself - things like manicures and hair cuts just don't happen for a while after you get home. Eat at your favorite restaurants, maybe go to a movie. I haven't been to a movie theater in forever.

Maybe you can go to a place that you can prepare some meals that you can freeze and pop in the oven when you get home.

So, I was just thinking "what is Ya-Ya doing today?', and now I have an job to do!(I found your blog - yea for me) While I only do blogging once in a blue moon when I am doing something other than paying bills (I just don't like computers, much to Jeff's chagrin), please forgive me if I am repeating something that is elemental. I think you should compile all the blogs about Zoe that you would like her to have into a book - then write your and Jeff's comments regarding the blogs so she will have the most amazing book about how much you have been looking forward to her and much you love her before you even met her. Of course, a bottle of wine should be involved!! Love to you! Amy, Jeff, Andrew, Virginia and McQueen

Here is a good time killer and good reading too. This is a blog of a friend of ours that adopted a beautiful little girl from China last spring.

Spend some time in that amazing hot tub of yours!!! And take Jeff to the Apple store and let him roam for a few hours. And email your sister more often.
