Now the nursery has been sitting there, ready for a baby for a year and a half. I still love everything I bought, but if I were doing it now, i would certainly do somethings differently. I would have picked different bedding and I might have picked different furniture.
Same with the stroller. I like our stoller just fine. It's been in the garage for about a year. It's awesome really, but tonight at Wal-mart, I played with the Fisher-Price, fake Bugaboo. I LOVE it! I want it! I must have it! I'm not going to buy it yet because I've learned my lesson with the nursery. And besides, it's kind of silly to own two stollers while you still have no baby.

I believe I've sworn off any more purchases until we have an actual referral in hand. Until we know that baby we are shopping for.
HOWEVER, I reserve the right to make purchases if:
1. I won't run across it again.
2. It's a super-good deal.
3. I'm having bad day and only buying cute baby things will make me feel better.

I am with you 100% on your rules:)I have been doing just that for the past few months, since we feel like we are in limbo regarding our referral - it seems silly to keep buying stuff.
Hang in there!

Love your rules..We are trying to hold back as much as possible!
I agree with you! I'm somewhat embarassed to say, how little we have so far, considering people who's LID is after ours, have e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g already. Maybe by the end of this year/beginning of next year, we'll start getting the nursery ready. I have to wait for IKEA to open in Orlando.

Good rules... but sometimes when you get down, the best therapy for the wait is a little shopping!
That's not just a stroller, it's a work of art!
Isn't this the truth? I want a whole new nursery now :)
Oh well. At least I don't own a ton of clothes or toys. There's still room for expansion.
I still love O's room but i wish I had waited too, at leat I'd still have something to do but dust it! LOL.
That's an awesome stroller!
