Jeff got a new job.
He was happy at his last job, but this opportunity fell in his lap, and we are so thankful for it! He now works for a company repeatedly ranked in the top 5 companies in ATL for which to work, and we agree. Very happy. This is him working from home. Rough gig, huh?
We remodeled the master bath.
Our master bath was the last sore spot in our house. Against the advice of some of the contractors we actually made our master bath smaller. It may not have been the best choice for resale, but it gave us a walk-in closet, a bigger shower, and with the help of IKEA, is way functional, and sooooo much better than before. I should have taken a "before" picture, but some things you just don't want to immortalize.
Trip to Florida.
Before Jeff's new job started we squeezed in a Florida trip. The highlight was this lazy river at our hotel. We went while Florida was waiting to see what Hurricane Isaac would do, and as a result, we had the place to ourselves.
Halloween.
We took the kids to a "sensory friendly trot-or-treat". A stable that has hippotherapy for special needs kids put it on and it was great! Ethan wasn't shy at all (big surprise), and Zoe eventually warmed up to idea with the help of some very wonderful, very patient people.
The Japanese Maple picture.
Every November we take pictures of this tree in our front yard. Its gorgeous for all of about 2 weeks.
Thanksgiving.
Gosh, its near impossible to get a good family picture of us. The one of the kids was the one I used for our Christmas card. That boy cracks me up!
Ethan's Birthday.
He has been excited about his birthday for an eternity! In fact, he's already excited about his next birthday. We had it at the bowling alley. It was too much for Zoe, but next year he should have a party with his school friends because he eats this stuff up!!
Christmas.
We had a great Christmas. It was Zoe's first that she actually "got it". We had some quite family time and squeezed in another trip to Florida.
Ethan was so excited, we had to remind him he only opens his presents. |
Zoe's nanny made her a picture book of their summer adventures |
Every body got boots! Aren't Zoe's the cutest things ever? |
She might love him too much. |
And we can't forget Penny!
Gosh, I love this dog. And its that love that lets me look past the jumping, digging, and chewing.
