A pretty good day.

Zoe and I have an understanding that she gets a lollipop (pop pop) if she gets in the stroller with minimal fuss-age.

Ethan is crying less, but can be set off if he doesn't get his way or if Zoe wants one of his toys. Mostly, he's good. He can, however, be a real stinker! We were at dinner tonight and he started tearing up his paper placemat. I told him to give me the pieces and he totally understood what I wanted. He played magician by showing me an empty hand while holding the piece behind his back with the other. When I insisted, he handed me a spoon with a giant smile on his face...then a fork. I gave him a mean look and he busted out laughing.

This was clearly not a battle worth fighting, so I dropped it, but at the end of meal I made him pick up all the pieces he had scattered on the floor and he didn't complain.

We had to work to fill time today. Nothing much on the agenda. We had the reading of the TB test and that was fine. We shopped, played in the play room at the White Swan, and ate at Lucy's (again). We came back to the room when both the kids turned fussy. Zoe fell asleep at 5pm, so I don't know what tomorrow will be like.

Tomorrow morning is our consulate appt. After that, we just wait around for our visa to be issued and then leave on Thursday.

Thats it for the Monday wrap up. I stink at picture taking. I'll see what I can work up for tomorrow.

We went to a great park in Guangzhou for kids. It had four ponds and paddle boats for rent-small ones or the big ones for 4-6 people with umbrellas. It also had amusement park rides in the center for kids. You might want to ask your guide about it. I remember that it wasn't far at all from the White Swan.

What a character that Ethan! He's going to keep you on your toes! Glad you're on the homestretch. I remember that the store called A Gift from China (down the street from Starbucks...I spent way too much money there) gave adoptees a free magnet that was the shape of China w/the child's province marked on it. That might be something to check out if you're in the vicinity.

Audrey gives me some goldfish if I am good on walks. Maybe I can get a pop pop instead.
