adoption stuff and killing time

Wow. I have free time in the morning before work. This never happens. Normally, I'm scurrying like a maniac to get to work on time.....or at least not too late. (They don't really care when I come in, but there is this sort of "race" mentality among the carriers, and I hate being last.)

Sooooooo....I thought I'd take a moment to talk about the adoption. You know, "waitingforzoe" type stuff.

Here's the run down: We are getting really, really close. The next batch of referrals should be here soon and I'm on pins and needles for any information about them. When will they come, and more importantly, how far will they go? I can't believe there is not a single peep out about them by now. People will start making up rumors soon if nothing surfaces today or tomorrow.

I've gotten so successful at staying busy to kill the time, that I really have no free time lately. I'm not sure which situation I like better. We've started on our final room to make-over. And the new rule is that we have to work on it at least one hour every day until completed. So far, so good, but there's still a long way to go.

We're also filling the time with social engagements. I have plans with friends nearly everyday thru the weekend. This is the sort of thing we should have done ages ago, but it's somehow easier to hang out on the sofa. I hope we stay this active when Zoe comes. I'd like to be that sort of "out and about" type family.

The one thing I really should be filling the time with is exercise and thats the one thing that sure as heck ain't happening. I should be using this free time on the treadmill or at least walking the dog, but....well.... I didn't.

Okay...I guess I can go to work now. It's crazy they let you come in as late as you like. (One of my co-workers didn't show up until 10:30 yesterday), but Lord help you if you come in early. Crazy.

Off to make the money....

Why is it that we wait until it's almost time for this life-changing event to spend time with friends? Zack and I are doing the exact same thing! Seems almost every day we are getting together with someone for lunch, dinner, coffee, etc.
